삼성SDI가 성균관대학교와 배터리공학과를 신설한다고 12일 밝혔다.

배터리공학과는 채용 연계형 계약학과로 공과대학 학사 4년제 과정으로 운영된다.성균관대는 2026년부터 10년간 매년 30명 규모 신입생을 선발할 계획이다.입학생들에게는 배터리 소재부터 셀,모듈,팩까지 맞춤 교육이 제공된다.해당 학과를 졸업한 학생들에게는 삼성SDI에 입사할 수 있는 혜택이 주어진다.

삼성SDI는 배터리 전문 인력 육성과 국가 핵심 전략 산업 인재 양성에 동참하기 위해 학과 신설을 추진했다고 설명했다.최윤호 삼성SDI 사장은 “우수 인재의 확보와 양성은 삼성SDI의 미래 경쟁력”이라며 “성균관대와 협약을 통해 배터리 시장을 리드할 수 있는 핵심 인재를 확보해 글로벌 톱티어 회사로서 초격차 기술경쟁력을 확고히 하겠다”고 말했다.

삼성SDI는 2021년부터 포스텍,슬롯 나라 카 심바서울대,KAIST,한양대,슬롯 나라 카 심바성균관대,UNIST 등과 배터리 우수인재양성 과정을 운영 중이며 향후 배터리 계약학과를 확대할 계획이다.
