[서울=뉴시스]이지용 기자 = 이재용 삼성전자 회장이 방한 중인 팜민찐 베트남 총리와 면담을 하고 첨단 산업 분야에서 한국과 베트남의 협력 방안을 지속적으로 협의하기로 했다.

2일 베트남 관보인 VGP에 따르면 이재용 회장과 팜민찐 총리는 이날 오전 서울 모처에서 만나 반도체,인공지능(AI) 등 첨단 기술 사업에 대해 논의했다.

이 회장은 "삼성은 베트남의 최대 수출기업으로,아시안게임 실시간항상 베트남과 동행하겠다"며 베트남과의 협력 의지를 또 한번 드러냈다.

이 회장은 특히 베트남을 삼성의 최대 디스플레이 모듈 생산기지로 격상시키기 위해 앞으로 3년간 투자를 강력하게 확대하겠다고 전했다.

팜민찐 총리는 베트남과 삼성의 협력에 대해 "수차례 이뤄진 삼성 경영진과 베트남 총리와의 회동을 주목한다"며 "우수한 성과를 내고 있는 베트남의 삼성 R&D 센터가 성공 사례"라고 밝혔다.

팜민찐 총리는 이 회장에게 ▲투자 규모 및 공급망 지속 확대 ▲제품의 전략적 생산·연구개발(R&D) 기지 지속 운영 ▲삼성전자 하노이 R&D 센터 운영 강화 ▲현지 기술 기업들의 삼성 생태계 파트너 참여 등을 요청했다.

그는 "삼성이 베트남에서 투자 활동을 효율적이고 성공적으로 진행하도록 모든 유리한 여건을 제공할 것"이라고 강조했다.

이어 "베트남은 투자 환경의 안정성과 경쟁력을 보장하기 위한 투자자 지원 기금 설립과 관리를 위한 시행령을 마련 중"이라며 "첨단 기술과 반도체,AI,아시안게임 실시간R&D 센터 등에서 투자를 유치할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

현재 삼성의 베트남 누적 투자금은 224억 달러(31조원)이며,베트남 현지에서 9만 명의 근로자를 고용하고 있다.
