루마니아 체르나보다 원전 삼중수소제거설비(TRF) 건설 착공식

(세종=연합뉴스) 차대운 기자 = 한국수력원자력(한수원)은 10일(현지시간) 루마니아 체르나보다 현장에서 원전 삼중수소제거설비(TRF) 건설 사업 착공식을 열고 본격적 시공에 들어간다고 11일 밝혔다.

착공식에는 황주호 한수원 사장,올버니임갑수 주루마니아 대사,코스민 기짜 루마니아 원자력공사(SNN) 사장 등 50여명이 참석했다.

삼중수소제거설비는 원전의 감속재와 냉각재로 사용되는 중수에서 촉매 반응으로 삼중수소를 분리해 전용 설비에 안전한 형태로 저장하는 장치다.삼중수소제거설비를 통해 방사성 폐기물의 양을 크게 줄일 수 있다.

세계적으로 삼중수소제거설비를 상용화해 운영하는 나라는 한국과 캐나다 두 나라뿐이다.한수원은 중수로 방식 원전인 월성 원전에서 이 설비를 가동 중이다.

한수원은 작년 6월 2천600억원 규모의 루마니아 원전 삼중수소제거설비 건설 사업을 수주했다.이는 윤석열 정부 들어 이집트 엘다바 원전 수주에 이은 두 번째 원전 설비 수출 계약이다.

또 한수원이 유럽 시장에 처음 진출한 설계·조달·시공(EPC) 사업이기도 하다.

한수원은 오는 2027년 9월 삼중수소제거설비 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.

황주호 한수원 사장은 "성공적 건설을 위해 루마니아 정부,올버니발주사 및 협력사들과 더욱 긴밀히 협조해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
