(서울=연합뉴스) 주종국 기자 = '투자의 달인' 워런 버핏이 이끄는 버크셔 해서웨이(이하 버크셔)가 미국 석유회사 옥시덴털 페트롤리엄(이하 옥시덴털) 주식 295만 주를 추가로 인수해 지분을 29% 수준으로 늘렸다.

버크셔는 17일(현지시간) 미국 증권거래위원회(SEC)에 제출한 서류에서 지난 13일 이후 옥시덴털 주식을 세 차례에 걸쳐 1억7천600만 달러어치 사들였다고 밝혔다.

이번 지분 취득으로 버크셔는 옥시덴탈 보통주 약 2억5천530만주를 보유하게 됐다.지분율로는 29% 수준이며,실시간 tv보기17일 기준 시가로 약 153억7천만 달러어치다.

로이터통신에 따르면 이달에만 버크셔는 옥시덴털 주식 550만주를 인수했다.

버크셔는 지난 2022년 8월 옥시덴털 지분 최대 50%를 인수할 수 있도록 당국의 승인을 받은 바 있다.버핏은 그러나 옥시덴털 소유권을 완전히 가져올 계획은 없다고 밝혔다.

버핏은 또 옥시덴털의 주식 8천350만 주를 주당 59.62달러에 추가로 매입할 수 있는 신주인수권을 보유하고 있다.이는 17일 옥시덴털 주식 종가 60.20달러보다 낮은 금액이다.

지난 2019년 처음 옥시덴털에 투자한 버크셔는 2022년 초부터 본격적으로 보유 물량을 늘리면서 최대 주주가 됐다.

버크셔는 2021년에는 투자할만한 회사가 없다며 막대한 현금을 쌓아뒀다가 2022년부터 에너지 기업과 애플 주식 등을 사들였다.
