[앵커]

화재 현장에서는 많은 양의 희뿌연 연기가 계속 뿜어져 나왔습니다.

전문가들은 리튬 전지의 전해질이 불에 타면서 나온 연기라고 분석했는데,유해 성분 유출로 인한 2차 피해 가능성은 없는지 김세현 기자가 취재했습니다.

불이 나고 얼마 뒤,토토랜옆 공장에서 찍은 영상입니다.

공장 건물 사이로 희뿌연 연기가 자욱합니다.

[박광현/목격자/주변 업체 관계자 : "불난 현장에서 하얀색 연기가 자욱하게 피어나기 시작했습니다.펑펑 터지는 소리가 발생했습니다."]

[배건웅/목격자/주변 업체 관계자 : "흰 연기만 계속 나다가 그다음에 이제 검은색 연기로 바뀌고,시큼한 냄새도 나고…"]

화재 초반의 흰 연기는 리튬 전지 안의 전해질이 화학 반응을 일으켜 발생한 것으로 보입니다.

[백승주/한국열린사이버대 소방방재안전학과 교수 : "(배터리) 내부에서 이상 현상으로 내부 단락이 발생하면 결국에는 배터리 외형 케이스를 깨고 열폭주 현상을 일으키게 됩니다.미연소 가연성 가스를 동반하는데,토토랜입자가 큰 상태가 돼서 빛을 반사하는 흰색으로…"]

불이 난 공장에서 만든 리튬 전지의 전해질에는 염화티오닐이라는 물질이 쓰이는 것으로 알려졌습니다.

염화티오닐은 불에 타면서 이산화황을 만드는데,인체에 치명적입니다.

화재 당시 2층에 있던 사람들의 호흡기에 영향을 줬을 가능성도 제기됩니다.

[최현호/한국화재감식학회 기술위원장 : "(이산화황을 흡입하면) 눈도 따갑고 안 보이고 기침 나와서 숨을 못 쉬어요.자기가 어디 서 있고 어느 방향으로 튀어야 하는 이런 인지적 판단이 불가능합니다."]

화재 현장 주변으로도 유해가스가 누출됐을 수 있다는 우려가 나오는데,토토랜환경부는 현재까지 검출된 유해물질은 없다며,토토랜사고 수습이 끝날 때까지 검사를 계속하겠다고 밝혔습니다.
