전주지검 남원지청(지청장 반지)은 폭력행위 등 처벌에 관한 법률(공동감금·공동공갈) 위반 혐의로 남원의 H파 소속 폭력조직원 A(38)씨 등 4명을 구속기소했다고 26일 밝혔다.

이들은 지난 5월 대포통장 물색업자와 대포통장 유통사업을 하던 중 "니들 때문에 손해를 봤다"며 대포통장 물색업자 B(26)씨 등 2명을 감금하고 협박해 금품을 갈취한 혐의를 받고 있다.

이들은 B씨 등 2명을 남원과 광주일대를 끌고 다니며 여관과 찜질방 등에 감금하고 협박해 명품가방과 외제차 등 금품도 갈취한 것으로 조사됐다.

범행에 가담한 A씨 등은 폭력조직원 가입 사실을 부인했지만 검찰은 제3자 진술 등을 통해 이들이 폭력조직에 가입해 활동했던 것으로 파악했다.

검찰 관계자는 "MZ조폭을 엄단해 발본색원함으로써 법질서를 바로잡을 것"이라며 "시민의 안전한 일상이 위협받지 않도록 최선의 노력을 기울이겠다"고 말했다.
