해외에 서버를 두고 불법 스트리밍 사이트 등을 운영해 온 30대 남성이 구속 상태로 검찰에 넘겨졌습니다.

낮에는 IT 개발자로 일하고,로또 판매금액퇴근 후에는 불법 사이트 운영자로 일하며 억대의 광고 수익을 챙겼습니다.

불법 스트리밍 사이트와 성 착취물 공유 사이트를 운영해 온 개발자가 구속돼 검찰에 넘겨졌습니다.

경기북부경찰청 사이버범죄수사대는 지난달 24일 아동·청소년성보호법,로또 판매금액정보통신망법 등 위반 혐의로 30대 남성 A 씨를 구속 송치했다고 밝혔습니다.

A 씨는 2019년 5월부터 지난달 검거 직전까지 불법 스트리밍 사이트 3개와 성 착취물 공유 사이트 4개를 운영해온 혐의를 받습니다.

A 씨는 해당 사이트를 통해 38만여 개의 국내 드라마 등 영상물과 30만여 개의 성 착취물을 유포한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

컴퓨터공학을 전공한 A 씨는 IT 업체에서 10년 이상 프로그래머로 일하며 전문 지식을 습득한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

태국과 한국을 오가며 생활하던 A 씨는 불법 스트리밍 사이트의 운영방식과 수익구조를 접하고 직접 사이트를 개설했습니다.

해당 사이트들의 월 방문자 수는 120만여 명에 달했고,A 씨는 배너 광고 등을 게시해주는 대가로 태국 현지 은행 차명계좌나 가상화폐 등을 이용해 1억 2천만 원 상당의 부당 이득을 챙긴 것으로 확인됐습니다.

경찰은 미국 국토안보수사국 등과 공조해 A 씨의 인적사항을 특정하고,인천 부평구의 주거지에서 검거했습니다.

A 씨는 경찰 조사에서 "재택 근무를 하며 집과 카페 등에서 사이트를 관리해왔다"면서 "사이트 운영을 부업으로 생각했다"고 말했습니다.

경찰은 A 씨가 운영하던 사이트 7개를 모두 폐쇄하고 차명계좌 등을 이용해 벌어들인 범죄수익금을 추적하고 있습니다.
