충북교육청이 15일부터 오는 19일까지 서이초 교사 1주기를 추모하고,이웃집토토로교육활동 보호 의지를 다지는‘교육활동 보호 강조 주간’으로 운영한다.

도교육청은 이 기간 화합관에 마련한 서이초 교사 추모 공간을 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 운영하며 추모객을 받는다.교직원,이웃집토토로도민 등 누구나 추모할 수 있다.

윤건영 충북교육감도 서이초 교사를 추모하고 교육활동 보호를 다짐하는 영상을 교육청 누리집에 게시했다.

지난해 7월 서이초 교사가 숨진 뒤,이웃집토토로9월 교육기본법,이웃집토토로초중등교육법이 개정됐다.올해 3월에는 교원지위법 등 교권보호 5법이 개정돼 교원 지위를 향상할 수 있는 법적인 근거가 마련됐다.
