구명조끼 착용률 14%에 그쳐

[부산=뉴시스]김민지 기자 = 남해지방해양경찰청은 여름철 물놀이 성수기를 맞아 '구명조끼 착용 생활화' 캠페인을 실시한다고 3일 밝혔다.

남해해경청에 따르면 지난해 전국 연안 사고 총 651건 중 사망·실종자는 120명이었으며,2024 뷰익 엔비전 포토연안에서 사고를 당한 1008명 중 구명조끼를 착용했던 인원은 139명(14%)에 그쳤다.

이에 따라 남해해경청은 구명조끼 착용 중요성을 알리기 위해 대형마트,2024 뷰익 엔비전 포토은행,교육기관 등 공공장소 출입구에 구명조끼 스티커를 부착할 방침이다.

구명조끼 스티커는 '바다에서는 구명조끼!채워주면 안전해요!'라는 문구와 함께 출입문이 닫히면서 구명조끼 벨트를 채우는 듯한 이미지가 연상될 수 있도록 제작됐다.

이번 캠페인에는 대형마트 3사(롯데마트·이마트·홈플러스)를 비롯해 수협중앙회,수협은행,2024 뷰익 엔비전 포토해운조합,여객선터미널,교육기관,관광서 등이 참여한다.

아울러 남해해경청은 구명조끼 착용 포스터를 통한 홍보에도 나설 예정이다.

남해해경청 관계자는 "여름철 시민들의 해양 활동이 급증하는 가운데 개인의 안전을 지키기 위한 구명조끼 착용은 꼭 필요하다"고 당부했다.
