"인텔,크리스털 팰리스 대 첼시소프트뱅크그룹 요구사항 충족 못해"[이데일리 양지윤 기자] 손정의 회장이 이끄는 소프트뱅크그룹(SBG)이 인텔과의 인공지능(AI) 반도체 관련 제휴 협상이 결렬됐다고 파이낸셜타임스(FT)가 15일(현지시간) 보도했다.

인텔 본사 앞에 회사 로고가 세워져있다.(사진=AFP) FT는 이 사안에 정통안 소식통을 인용해 인텔이 SBG의 AI 반도체 관련 요구사항을 충족하는 데 어려움을 겪으면서 제휴 협상이 종료됐다고 전했다.

SBG는 조 바이든 행정부의 반도체법(칩스법) 자금을 활용할 목적으로 인텔과 AI 칩 제조를 논의해 왔다.그러나 인텔은 SBG가 원하는 수량과 속도를 충족하지 못하면서 협상이 결렬된 것으로 알려졌다.

SBG는 현재 세계 최대 반도체 위탁생산업체인 TSMC와 AI 반도체 제휴 관련 논의를 진행 중이라고 FT는 전했다.양측은 협의 결렬 여부에 대해 언급을 거부했다.
