지난해 서울 관악구 등산로에서 길 가던 여성을 성폭행하려다 살해한 최윤종이 1심과 마찬가지로 2심에서도 무기징역을 선고받았습니다.

재판부는 "피해자가 느꼈을 공포는 헤아릴 수 없다"고 지적했습니다.

등산로에서 여성을 성폭행하려다 살해한 혐의를 받는 최윤종이 1심에 이어 2심에서도 무기징역을 선고받았습니다.

서울고등법원은 강간 등 살인 혐의로 재판에 넘겨진 최 씨에게 이같이 선고했습니다.

재판부는 "그릇된 욕망을 해소하려 흉악한 범죄를 저질렀다"며,"피해자가 느꼈을 극심한 공포는 감히 헤아릴 수 없다"고 지적했습니다.

앞서 검찰은 지난 4월 열린 결심 공판에서 1심과 마찬가지로 사형을 구형했습니다.

최 씨는 지난해 8월,서울 관악구의 등산로에서 30대 여성 A 씨를 흉기로 무차별하게 폭행하고 목을 졸라 숨지게 한 혐의 등으로 재판에 넘겨졌습니다.

A 씨는 현장에서 약 20분간 방치됐다가 심정지 상태로 병원에 옮겨졌지만,이틀 뒤 숨졌습니다.

최 씨는 재판 과정에서 살해 의도가 없었다고 주장했지만,재판부는 최 씨의 주장을 받아들이지 않았습니다.

지난 1월,1심 재판부 역시 범행 도구와 방법을 준비하는 등 살인의 고의성이 있다고 판단해,슬롯필링최 씨에 대해 무기징역을 선고하고 위치추적 전자장치 30년 부착을 명령했습니다.

하지만 최 씨는 무기징역형은 너무 무거워 부당하다며 항소했습니다.
