엔비디아와 마이크로 소프트.

그리고 오픈 AI.

인공지능 시장을 장악하고 있는 이들 기업에 대해 미국 정부가 반독점 조사의 칼을 빼들었단 보도가 잇따르고 있습니다.

이들 기업들이 막대한 기술력과 자본력으로 미래의 경쟁을 막으려 하는 게 아니냐.

이런 의심에섭니다.

[리포트]

인공지능,구리 월드컵AI 칩 제조의 선두주자 엔디비아는 현지 시각 5일 시가총액이 3조 달러를 넘었습니다.

시가총액 1조 달러를 넘어서는데 24년이 걸렸지만,이후 1년도 안 돼 2조 달러를 돌파했고,구리 월드컵불과 넉 달 만에 3조 달러짜리 기업이 됐습니다.

그 배경에는 AI 칩 시장의 70%에서 95%를 점유하고 있는 기술력이 있습니다.

[댄 아이브스/웨드부쉬 증권 이사 : "모든 칩에서 엔비디아가 정상에 있습니다.그들은 (AI 산업이라는) 골드러시에 필요한 곡괭이와 삽을 혼자서 제공하고 있어요."]

이런 AI 거대 기업에 대해 미 정부가 반독점 조사에 나섰다는 현지 보도가 잇따르고 있습니다.

엔비디아와 마이크로소프트,구리 월드컵그리고 챗GPT 개발사 오픈AI 등 세 곳이 대상입니다.

이들 기업이 미래의 경쟁을 막으려 하는 것이 아닌지 살펴보겠다는 겁니다.

엔비디아는 자사의 그래픽 처리 장치와 AI 개발 소프트웨어를 결합해 시장 장악력을 높여가고 있습니다.

이미 오픈 AI의 지분 49%를 갖고 있는 마이크로소프트는 스타트업들과 거래를 맺고 인력을 빨아들이고 있습니다.

오픈 AI는 자료 수집 과정에서 소비자 피해 여부가 조사 대상입니다.

지난달 세계 최초로 AI 규제법을 승인한 유럽연합도 거대 AI 기업들의 독점 여부에 대해 이미 비공개 조사를 시작했습니다.
