제임스 다이슨 (사진=AFP) [이데일리 정다슬 기자] 다이슨이 9일(현지시간) 영국에서 약 1000명을 해고할 방침이라고 밝혔다.영국 직원 수 3500명의 30%에 해당한다.구조조정은 다른 나라에서도 실시될 전망이다.

하노 키르너 다이슨 최고경영책임자(CEO)는 이날 “다이슨은 기술혁신과 변화의 속도가 가속화되고 있는 어려운 세계시장에서 사업을 전개하고 있다”며 “우리는 조직에 변화를 제안하고 있으며 이는 해고로 이어질 수 있다”고 말했다.

구조조정은 경영진을 포함해 다양한 분야에서 이뤄질 예정이다.전세계적으로 1만 5000여명을 고용하고 있는 다이슨은 영국 외 지역에서도 구조조정을 검토하고 있다.구체적인 수치는 아직 밝히지 않았다.

다이슨은 2019년 싱가포르로 본사를 이전했다.영국은 맬스버리 공학기술연구소를 중심으로 다이슨의 주요 연구개발 거점으로 남을 예정이다.
