(서울=연합뉴스) 윤고은 기자 = 홍콩이 3년 연속으로 외국인이 살기에 가장 비싼 도시로 조사됐다.

2위는 싱가포르이고 서울은 전년보다 16계단 하락한 32위에 올랐다.

18일 홍콩 일간 더스탠더드에 따르면 전날 글로벌 컨설팅업체 머서가 발표한 '2024 도시 생활비 랭킹'에서 홍콩은 2022년과 2023년에 이어 올해도 외국인이 살기에 가장 돈이 많이 드는 도시로 조사됐다.

홍콩의 뒤를 싱가포르가 바짝 뒤쫓았다.

홍콩과 싱가포르의 비싼 주택 임차료는 집세가 비싸기로 악명 높은 스위스의 취리히·제네바·바젤·베른을 제친 것이라고 머서는 짚었다.

이들 도시에 이어 뉴욕은 전년보다 한 계단 내려간 7위에 올랐고,야구 김도영런던이 전년보다 9계단 상승해 8위를 차지했다.

머서는 226개 도시를 대상으로 주택,교통,음식,야구 김도영의류,가정용품 등 200여개 아이템과 서비스를 비교해 순위를 매겼다고 밝혔다.

그러면서 주택 비용 상승과 변동적인 인플레이션 추세가 외국인들의 복리후생 등에 압박을 가하고 있다고 설명했다.

한국,일본,중국 도시들은 통화 가치 약세로 일제히 순위가 하락했다.

중국에서는 상하이가 23위,베이징이 25위,야구 김도영선전이 34위를 기록했다.각기 전년보다 11∼14계단 내려갔다.

일본에서는 도쿄가 전년보다 30계단 하락한 49위에 올랐다.

한편,홍콩은 지난주 미국 컨설팅업체 데모그라피아 조사에서도 세계에서 가장 비싼 부동산 시장으로 조사됐다.

해당 조사에서는 홍콩이 아시아에서 유일하게 톱10에 들었고 시드니와 밴쿠버가 각각 2위와 3위를 차지했다.싱가포르는 11위다.
