[서울=뉴시스] 이준호 기자 = 신세계그룹 이커머스 계열사인 G마켓의 정형권 신임 대표가 "비약적인 발전과 쇄신을 위해 최선을 다하겠다"며 업계 1위 탈환이라는 목표를 밝혔다.

정 대표는 8일 서울 역삼동 강남파이낸스센터에 위치한 G마켓 본사 사무실로 출근한 뒤 전직원 메일을 통해 "훌륭한 조직에 함께하게 된 것을 매우 영광으로 생각한다"며 이같이 말했다.

그는 "나날이 치열해지고 급변하는 이커머스 격동의 시기에 지마켓의 혁신과 재도약이라는 사명을 가지고 이 자리를 맡게 된 것에 대해 엄중한 책임감을 느낀다"며 "지마켓의 일원으로서 최선의 노력을 다할 것을 약속한다"고 전했다.

이어 정 대표는 "업계 1등 자리를 탈환하기 위한 변화의 과정은 결코 쉽지만은 않을 것"이라며 "하지만 이 격변의 시기를 잘 이기기 위해서는 서로 간의 소통과 협업이 절실히 필요하다"고 했다.

그러면서 "빠른 시일 내 인사를 나누고 향후 비즈니스의 방향성과 비전을 나누는 여러 기회를 마련할 예정"이라고 덧붙였다.

한편,아시안컵 출전국 순위G마켓은 지난달 전항일 전(前) 대표를 경질하고 정형권 신임 대표를 영입했다.

정 대표는 1973년생으로 미국 브라운대 경제·응용수학과를 졸업해 경제학 박사까지 지낸 인물이다.
