사모펀드 회사인 KKR이 일본의 반도체 장비 회사인 고쿠사이 전기의 지분 약 43%가운데 절반을 매각할 계획이다.

9일(현지시간) 로이터에 따르면,에레디아노KKR은 고쿠사이 전기의 지분 가운데 절반 정도를 현금화하기 위해 시장에서 매각할 계획이라고 이 문제에 정통한 두 사람이 밝혔다.고쿠사이측은 시장에서 이 주식을 다시 사들일 것으로 알려졌다.

고쿠사이의 지분 20%는 전 날 도쿄증시 종가 기준으로 약 16억 달러(2조2,100억원)에 달한다.

2018년 히타치 국제 전기회사에서 분사한 반도체용 증착 장비 제조업체인 고쿠사이전기는 작년 10월 신규 상장이후 반도체 장비 수요에 힘입어 주식 가치가 약 3배 상승했다.

이 회사는 원래 히타치의 일부였으나 히타치가 비핵심 자산을 매각하고 비상장화하면서 작년에 독립적으로 상장했다.

3월말 기준 매출이 1,에레디아노810억엔(1조5,400억원)인 고쿠사이는 중기 매출목표는 3,300억엔,조정영입이익률 30%를 목표로 하고 있다.

KKR은 고쿠사이를 미국의 어플라이드 머티어리얼(AMAT)에 매각하려 했으나 2019년 중국에서 규제 승인을 얻지 못하면서 거래가 불발됐다.어플라이드 머티어리얼도 고쿠사이 지분 15%를 보유하고 있다.

분석가들은 고쿠사이가 메모리 부문 업황에 주로 노출돼 있으나 로직부문에서도 사업의 확장 여지가 있는 것으로 보고 있다.고쿠사이는 올들어 주가가 거의 50% 상승했으며 일본 반도체 장비업체인 도쿄 일렉트론과도 경쟁하고 있다.

한편 이 날 도쿄 증권거래소의 벤치마크 니케이 225 지수는 이 날 기술 관련 주식들이 상승세를 이끈 가운데 41,580.17로 마감해 사상 최고치를 기록했다.
