광주의 한 요양병원이 갑작스레 폐업 절차를 밟으면서 고령의 환자들이 하루 만에 다른 병원으로 옮겨졌는데요.

의료법상 병원을 폐업하려면 30일 전에 입원 환자에게 미리 안내해야 하지만 이런 절차가 지켜지지 않아 환자와 보호자들이 분통을 터트리고 있습니다.

광주의 한 요양병원.

병원 출입문에 6월 30일 폐업한다는 안내문이 붙어있습니다.

입구에는 환자들이 이용하던 휠체어와 보행 보조기구들이 가득합니다.

이 요양병원이 폐업을 알리며 환자들을 퇴원시키거나 전원조치한 건 어제(25일).

갑작스러운 통보였습니다.

[환자 보호자/음성변조 : "어제 처음 들었다니까요 어제.여동생한테 연락이 와가지고 그때 들었죠 저는.갑자기 폐업한다는 소식을 듣고 다른데로 가려면 가든지…."]

심지어 고령의 치매 환자들이 보호자의 동의도 없이 갑자기 다른 병원으로 옮겨지기도 했습니다.

[환자 보호자 : "어머니는 아무것도 모르고 여기서 거기로 바로 보내버린 것 같아.보호자들한테 사전 동의도 없고 아무것도 없이.가족으로서 엄청나게 당황하고 이럴 수가 없는 것이지."]

이틀동안 이곳에 입원한 환자 300여 명 가운데 90% 이상이 퇴원 또는 전원조치 된 것으로 확인됐습니다.

의료법상 폐업 예정일 14일 전까지 환자와 보호자가 쉽게 볼 수 있는 장소나 인터넷 홈페이지에 폐업 안내문을 게시해야 합니다.

또 입원 환자가 있는 병원은 30일 전까지 직접 안내해야 합니다.

하지만 이 병원은 폐업 예정일을 불과 닷새 남겨둔 시점에 환자들에게 전원을 통보한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

[병원 관계자/음성변조 : "저희도 지금 갑자기 이렇게 돼서 그런데 이렇게 와서 불 붙이실 거에요?나가주시겠어요?"]

관할 구청인 광주 서구청은 해당 요양병원이 의료법을 위반한 것으로 보고 사실 관계를 파악하고 있습니다.
