기시다 후미오 일본 총리가 일본 패전일인 15일 태평양전쟁 A급 전범이 합사된 도쿄 야스쿠니 신사에 공물을 봉납했다.현직 각료 인사들과 국회의원들은 직접 참배했다.

일본 교도통신은 이날 기시다 총리가 도쿄 지요다구의 야스쿠니 신사에 봉납했다고 자민당 관계자를 인용해 보도했다.기시다 총리는 2021년 10월 총리에 취임한 후 매년 춘계·추계 예대제(제사) 때마다 공물을 봉납해 왔다.직접 참배한 적은 없다.

현직 각료인 기하라 미노루 방위상,퓨마 벨로시티3신도 요시타카 경제재생담당상 등은 이날 직접 참배했다.일본 패전일에 현직 각료의 야스쿠니 신사 참배는 2020년 이후 5년 연속 이뤄졌다.차기 자민당 총재 선거에 출마할 가능성이 거론되는 고이즈미 신지로 전 환경상,퓨마 벨로시티3고바야시 다카유키 전 경제안보담당상 등도 참여했다.

야스쿠니 신사는 메이지 유신 이후 일본에서 벌어진 내전과 일본이 일으킨 수많은 전쟁에서 숨진 246만 6000여 명의 영령을 추모하는 곳이다.극동 국제군사재판(도쿄재판)에 따라 처형된 도조 히데키 전 총리 등 태평양전쟁 A급 전범 14명도 합사돼 있다.합사된 한반도 출신 인물들은 2만여 명가량이다.
