[서울=뉴시스]임철휘 이수정 기자 = 지난 1일 있었던 '시청역 역주행 사고' 피의자 차모(68)씨가 사고가 난 세종대로18길이 일방통행로인지 몰랐다고 경찰에 진술했다.

류재혁 서울 남대문경찰서장은 9일 오전 브리핑에서 "가해자가 그 지역(세종대로18길)에 대한 지리감은 있다"면서도 "그런데 직진 또는 좌회전이 금지된 사실은 몰랐다는 취지로 진술한 적이 있다"고 밝혔다.

'블랙박스 영상에 담긴 음성 내용과 고성 외에 추가 대화 내용이 있냐'는 질문에는 "사고 원인을 유추할 수 있는 추정할 수 있는 대화 내용은 없다"며 "'어어어'하는 당황해하는 소리,카카오 야구의성어가 나와 있을 뿐 일반 대화 내용은 있지만 사적 대화"라고 답했다.

그러면서 "확보한 블랙박스 영상에 경적 소리도 들리지 않았다"고 설명했다.

차씨에 대한 추가 조사 계획에 대해선 "피의자의 건강 상태에 따라 달라질 수 있다"면서도 "내일(10일) 2차 조사 하는 걸로 변호인 측과 조율하고 있다"고 전했다.

압수수색 여부에 대해서는 "수사 진행에 따라 필요한 경우 자택이나 핸드폰에 대한 영장 신청을 검토할 것"이라고 밝혔다.거짓말 탐지기 사용에도 "수사 진행 상황에 따라 필요한 경우라면 해 볼 예정"이라고 가능성을 열어뒀다.

급발진 주장에 대해서는 "(차씨가) 시종일관 차량 이상에 의한 급발진이라고 말한다"며 "차량 결함이 있는지에 대해서는 국과수에서 분석 중이다"고 설명했다．
