(군산=연합뉴스) 나보배 기자 = 전북 군산경찰서는 신호를 무시하고 오토바이를 운전하다가 보행자 2명을 치어 숨지게 한 혐의(교통사고처리 특례법 위반)로 20대 운전자 A씨에 대해 구속영장을 신청했다고 17일 밝혔다.

A씨는 지난 15일 오후 8시 40분께 군산시 나운동의 한 도로에서 횡단보도를 건너던 50대 B씨 등 남매를 치어 숨지게 한 혐의를 받고 있다.

당시 A씨는 배달 오토바이를 운전하고 있었으며,트위치 월드컵 중계차량 신호가 적색이었으나 이를 무시하고 달린 것으로 파악됐다.

B씨 등은 인근 공원에서 산책을 하고 귀가하던 중 오토바이에 치인 후 크게 다쳐 병원으로 이송됐으나 끝내 숨졌다.

A씨는 경찰 조사에서 "횡단보도를 건너던 보행자를 보지 못했다"고 진술한 것으로 파악됐다.

A씨는 현재 병원에서 치료받고 있다.

경찰 관계자는 "사고가 중대하다고 보고 A씨에 대한 구속영장을 신청했다"고 말했다.
