국가유산청 궁능유적본부는 이달 17일부터 8월 18일까지 매주 수∼일요일에 창덕궁 약방을 개방한다고 오늘(12일) 밝혔습니다.

약방은 궁궐 안에 있는 의료기관으로 내의원 또는 내약방으로 불렸습니다.

왕실이 쓰는 약재를 관장하던 곳으로 의료행정 기관인 전의감,배당금백성들의 치료를 담당했던 혜민서와 함께 조선의 대표적인 의료기관으로 여겨집니다.

창덕궁 궐내각사 권역에 있는 약방은 복원을 마친 2005년부터 전시·행사 공간으로 쓰이고 있습니다.

관람객들은 약탕 조제 도구,배당금약재를 넣어두는 약장 등을 살펴보고 제호탕,배당금오미자 음료를 시음할 수 있습니다.

제호탕은 매실을 익혀 만든 오매(烏梅),배당금사인(砂仁),배당금초과(草果) 등을 넣어 만든 음료를 일컫습니다.더위와 열을 식히고 갈증을 해소하는 역할을 한다고 전합니다.음료는 오후 1시부터 제공합니다.

매주 금·토요일에는 약초를 활용한 향주머니를 만드는 체험도 열립니다.

창덕궁을 찾는 누구나 약방을 자유롭게 둘러볼 수 있습니다.

외국인 관람객은 한국한의학연구원 동의보감사업단에서 기증한 다국어 소책자를 보며 약방을 둘러볼 수 있습니다.

창덕궁관리소 관계자는 "폭염을 피해 잠시 쉬어가면서 궁중문화를 직·간접적으로 느낄 수 있기를 바란다"고 말했습니다.
