(모스크바=연합뉴스) 최인영 특파원 = 러시아 국영 에너지기업 가스프롬은 연간 100억㎥의 천연가스를 중국에 공급할 수 있는 극동 가스관이 2027년부터 가동된다고 28일(현지시간) 밝혔다.

인테르팍스 통신에 따르면 알렉세이 밀러 가스프롬 최고경영자(CEO)는 이날 주주총회에서 이같이 말하면서 "러시아는 중국에 대한 최대 가스 공급국이 될 것"이라고 전망했다.

러시아와 중국은 2022년 초 극동 가스관을 통해 러시아 극동 사할린 지역에서 생산되는 천연가스를 중국 헤이룽장성까지 보내기로 계약했다.

러시아는 2019년부터 시베리아 차얀다 가스전에서 중국으로 이어지는 '시베리아의 힘' 가스관을 통해서도 천연가스를 공급하고 있다.

가스프롬은 지난해 시베리아의 힘 가스관을 통해 227억㎥의 가스를 중국에 공급했으며 내년에는 이 가스관을 통한 수송 용량이 최대치인 연간 380억㎥로 확대될 것으로 예상한다.

밀러 CEO는 "러시아 가스에 대한 중국의 수요가 많다"며 극동 가스관과 시베리아의 힘 가스관의 수송 용량이 모두 최대치에 도달하면 러시아가 중국의 최대 가스 공급국이 된다고 설명했다.

러시아는 우크라이나 '특별군사작전' 이후 유럽에 대한 가스 수출에 차질을 빚게 되면서 중국 등 아시아 시장으로 공급을 확대하기 위해 노력하고 있다.

러시아는 러시아 북부 야말 지역에서 몽골을 거쳐 중국으로 연간 500억㎥의 가스를 운송하는 '시베리아의 힘-2' 가스관 건설도 추진하고 있지만 중국과 협상이 타결되지 않고 있다.
