(서울=뉴스1) 김민석 기자 = 네이버(035420)가 앵커투자자로 출자한 코렐리아 캐피탈(K-펀드 1)을 통해 프랑스의 인공지능(AI) 유니콘(기업가치 1조 원 이상) 기업 '미스트랄AI'에 지분 투자했다.

4일 업계에 따르면 코렐리아캐피털 'K-펀드2'는 미스트랄AI에 투자해 지분을 확보했다.투자 액수는 비공개다.

코렐리아 캐피탈은 플뢰르 펠르랭 전 프랑스 디지털경제 장관과 유럽 금융전문가 앙투안 드레쉬가 설립한 스타트업 육성 펀드로 2016년 당시 네이버와 라인이 각각 5000만유로씩 총 1억유로(당시 약 1200억원)를 출자했다.네이버는 2017년에도 1억 유로를 추가 투입했다.

미스트랄AI는 지난해 5월 구글 딥마인드 출신 인사가 설립한 '소버린(Sovereign) AI' 기업으로 본사는 파리에 있다.최근 에마뉘엘 마크롱 프랑스 대통령이 '프랑스의 희망'이라고 언급했다.

미스트랄AI는 대규모언어모델(LLM)인 '미스트랄 7B' 등을 앞세워 소버린 AI 전략을 펴고 있다.최근 58억 유로(약 8조 6473억원)의 기업 가치를 인정받았다.

이해진 네이버 글로벌투자책임자(GIO)도 소버린 AI 중요성을 강조하고 있다.최근 최수연 네이버 대표·김유원 네이버클라우드 대표 등 네이버 주요 경영진과 함께 젠슨 황 엔비디아 최고경영자(CEO)를 만나 소버린 AI 모델 구축 방안을 논의했다.
