(서울=연합뉴스) 박형빈 기자 = 한국공항공사는 2029년 12월 개항을 목표로 추진 중인 가덕도신공항 건설에 공사가 건설정보모델링(BIM·Building Information Modeling) 위탁기관으로 선정됐다고 12일 밝혔다.

BIM은 건설 과정에서 설계,사당역 로또 판매점시공,사당역 로또 판매점유지관리,사당역 로또 판매점운영 등 모든 과정을 3D로 시각화·자동화해 품질과 생산성 향상에 기여하는 기술이다.

공사는 올해 5월 준공 후에도 공항 운영·유지·보수과정과 연계해 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 'KAC-BIM' 기술 특허를 취득했다.

통상 BIM을 적용하면 설계변경·시공오류를 최소화해 공기·공사비를 10∼30% 절감할 수 있다고 알려졌다.

해외 신공항 건설사업에서는 BIM 기술 적용을 기본으로 요구하고 있고,사당역 로또 판매점우리 정부도 2030년까지 공공공사에 BIM 적용의 전면 의무화를 추진한다.

이정기 한국공항공사 사장직무대행은 "모든 단계에 BIM을 적용할 수 있는 원천기술을 바탕으로 가덕도신공항 건설을 성공적으로 지원해 국가 경쟁력 강화에 기여하겠다"고 말했다.
