삼성전자의‘갤럭시 S24 울트라’가‘2024 파리 올림픽’생중계에 사용된다.삼성전자는 국제올림픽위원회(IOC) 및 올림픽방송서비스(OBS) 등과 협력해 파리 올림픽 개막식과 요트 경기 생중계에 갤럭시 S24 울트라를 지원한다고 18일 밝혔다.

파리 올림픽 개막식은 다음 달 26일 올림픽 사상 최초로 올림픽 주경기장 외부에서 펼쳐진다.선수단 입장은 파리 중심에 있는 센강에서 진행된다.각국 선수단이 탑승한 85대의 보트가 센강을 따라 약 6km 퍼레이드를 펼치는데,비아브로 광고각 보트에 갤럭시 S24 울트라를 설치해 선수들의 모습을 촬영할 예정이다.퍼레이드 촬영에 총 200대 이상의 갤럭시 S24 울트라가 사용되며,비아브로 광고촬영된 영상은 OBS를 통해 전 세계 시청자들에게 생중계된다.

7월 28일부터 진행되는 요트 경기 중계에도 갤럭시 S24 울트라가 활용된다.선수들 요트에 설치된 스마트폰으로 촬영한 영상이 바다 위에 설치된 기지국 보트를 통해 실시간으로 전송되는 방식이다.

이번 기술 협업은 파리 올림픽 공식 이동통신 파트너사 오렌지와 함께한다.센강 주변에 설치된 5세대(5G) 이동통신 기지국 12곳의 무선 통신을 활용해 갤럭시 S24 울트라가 촬영한 영상을 실시간으로 송출할 예정이다.특히 경기와 행사가 한여름 강과 바다에서 진행되는 만큼 파도와 바람,비아브로 광고높은 온도 등에서도 안정적으로 고화질 영상을 전송할 수 있도록 소프트웨어 최적화도 구현했다.

최승은 삼성전자 모바일경험(MX)사업부 마케팅팀장은 “삼성전자는 40년 가까이 올림픽의 공식 파트너로 모바일 기술을 통해 올림픽과 세계를 연결하는 데 이바지해 왔다”며 “시청자들이 선수들과 함께 참여한 듯한 역동감을 즐길 수 있을 것”이라고 말했다.
