부천만화대상 웹툰 '정년이'

(부천=연합뉴스) 손현규 기자 = 한국만화영상진흥원은 제21회 부천만화대상 수상작으로 서이레(글)·나몬(그림) 작가의 웹툰 '정년이'를 선정했다고 2일 밝혔다.

이 작품은 소리에 타고난 소녀 '윤정년'이 1950년대 한국전쟁 직후 여성국극단에서 활동하며 성장하는 과정을 그렸다.

예술로 꿈을 이루려는 여성 인물들의 개성을 매력적인 그림체로 묘사해 독자들로부터 많은 사랑을 받았다.

부천만화대상 선정위원회는 "작품 정년이는 이야기뿐만 아니라 캐릭터 구현 등 기본적인 구성 측면에서 완성도가 높다"며 "독특하고 한국적인 소재인 여성국극을 활용했는데도 이야기를 대중적으로 잘 풀어낸 작품"이라고 평가했다.

신인만화상은 노경무·쏘키 작가의 '안 할 이유 없는 임신'이,하나 카지노해외작품상은 토마토 수프 작가의 '천막의 자두가르'가 각각 받았다.

학술상은 유인혁 전주대학교 교수의 논문 '한국 플랫폼 스토리텔링에 나타난 인간 관리자의 서사와 감정 자본주의'가 선정됐다.

올해 부천만화대상은 지난해에 발표된 만화 가운데 20개 작품을 선별한 뒤 심사를 거쳐 최종 수상작이 결정됐다.

시상식은 오는 10월 3일 제27회 부천국제만화축제 개막식에서 열릴 예정이다.

한국만화영상진흥원 관계자는 "국내 최고 권위의 만화상인 부천만화대상은 2004년에 만들어졌다"며 "작품성과 대중성이 있고 한 해 동안 가장 주목받은 만화를 수상작으로 선정한다"고 말했다.
