한국항공우주산업(KAI)은 13일부터 9일간 부산 벡스코에서 개최되는 국제우주연구위원회(COSPAR) 학술총회에 국내 대표 기업으로 참여했다고 16일 밝혔다.

COSPAR는 각국 우주개발 전문가들이 우주연구 발전 및 협력 정책을 논의하는 우주과학 분야 최대 학술행사로‘우주 올림픽’이라고도 불린다.

국내에서는 처음으로 개최됐다.NASA(미국 항공우주국),JAXA(일본 우주항공연구개발기구),왕십리 홀덤ESA(유럽우주국),왕십리 홀덤ISRO(인도 우주연구기구) 등 우주 선진국들의 주요 전문기관과 60개국 우주과학자 3000여 명이 참석했다.

강구영 KAI 사장은 전날 기조발표에 참여해 KAI가 준비 중인 우주 사업 확대 전략을 소개했다.또 우주 과학 연구기관과 산업체 간 협력을 통한 시너지 중요성을 강조했다.

이날 김지홍 KAI 미래융합기술원장은 우주안보 연구 및 산업 워크숍에서 주제 발표에 나설 예정이다.

차세대 중형위성,왕십리 홀덤다목적 실용위성,왕십리 홀덤초소형 SAR위성 등 KAI의 대표 제품군과 태양 측면 관측에 활용될 L4 탐사선 모형도 최초 공개됐다.

19일에는 미 공군,에어버스 D&S 등 국내외 관계자 약 30명이 KAI 본사를 방문해 항공기와 위성 개발 현장을 직접 살펴보는 테크니컬 투어도 진행한다.

KAI는 다양한 우주개발 선진국 및 주도 업체들과 글로벌 네트워크를 강화하고,왕십리 홀덤국제 공동개발 사업 참여 기회를 모색한다는 계획이다.
