DSA 패터닝 문제 최초 해결한 연구자

국내 연구자가 미국과 유럽 두 개 재료학회에서 동시에 의장으로 선정됐다.세계 최대 학회의 의장직을 동시에 수행하는 일은 전 세계적으로도 드물다.

김상욱 한국과학기술원(KAIST) 신소재공학과 교수는 미국재료학회(MRS) 내년 봄 학회 의장직과 유럽재료학회(E-MRS) 내년 가을학회 의장직을 맡았다고 24일 밝혔다.

김 교수는‘분자조립 나노 패턴(DSA)’의 패터닝 결함 문제를 세계 최초로 해결한 연구자다.김 교수는 나노 소재 자기조립제어 분야에서 과학기술인용색인(SCI)급 논문 290여 편,bj노출 사이트국제 특허 20여 건 획득 같은 활발한 연구를 이어왔다.특히 E-MRS 가을학회는 극자외선(EUV) 반도체의 한계를 극복하기 위한 DSA에 주목하는 만큼,김 교수에게 의장직을 제안했다.

김 교수는 KAIST에서 화학공학 학사·석사·박사 학위를 받았다.이후 미국 위스콘신대 박사후연구원을 거쳐 2004년부터 KAIST 신소재공학과 교수로 재직 중이다.현재는 KAIST 나노융합연구소장과 인권윤리센터장을 겸임하고 있다.

김 교수는 “신소재 분야의 국제적인 교류를 바탕으로 DSA 기술 혁신과 신소재 실용화를 촉진하기 위해 두 학회를 성공적으로 주최하겠다”고 말했다.
