중국 외교부,셰리프 스킨나토 정상회의 의식한 것 아니냐는 시각에 반발
사흘째 나토 정상회의 맹비난 이어가

린젠 중국 외교부 대변인은 10일 정례브리핑에서 해당 훈련과 관련해 "어떠한 특정 국가도 겨냥하지 않았다"고 밝혔다.

앞서 중국은 러시아의 우방국인 벨라루스와 벨라루스 서남부 브레스트 부근에서 대테러 훈련인 '이글 어썰트-2024' 합동훈련을 실시한다“고 밝힌 바 있다.해당 훈련은 지난 8일부터 19일까지 일정으로 실시된다.

나토가 9∼11일 미국 워싱턴에서 정상회의를 개최하는 가운데 이번 훈련이 나토를 의식해 진행하는 것 아니냐는 시각이 제기되자 이를 부인한 것이다.

린 대변인은 "이번 중국과 벨라루스의 육군 합동훈련은 양국의 연간 협력계획에 따라 실시되는 것"이라며 "중·벨라루스의 정상적인 군사 교류협력이고 국제법과 국제관례에 부합한 것"이라고 강조했다.

중국 외교부는 미국에서 열리고 있는 나토 정상회의에 대해서도 사흘째 비난 공세를 이어갔다.

린 대변인은 이날 "나토에 대한 중국의 입장은 일관적"이라며 "나토가 지역적이고 방어적인 성격을 지닌 기구라는 지위를 깨고 아시아·태평양에서 충돌과 대립을 선동하고 지역의 번영과 안정을 파괴하는 것에 단호히 반대한다"고 밝혔다.

또 "나토가 세계의 평화와 안정과 안보를 위해 더 많은 실용적인 일을 할 것을 권고한다"고 덧붙였다.

중국 외교부는 지난 8일부터 한국·일본·호주·뉴질랜드 등 인도·태평양 파트너국(IP4)이 참가한 가운데 열리는 나토 정상회의에 대해 '냉전의 산물'이라며 "중국을 핑계로 아시아·태평양으로 동진해 지역 정세를 교란하는 것에 반대한다"고 밝힌 바 있다.
