권덕민 연구원은 보고서에서 "대원전선은 수출을 위해 미국 여러 전력청에 샘플을 제공한 상태로 테스트가 진행 중인 것으로 파악된다"며 "LA 전력청 가능성이 높은 것으로 분석되고 빠르면 내년 하반기에 결과가 나올 것"이라고 추정했다.

그러면서 "미국의 초고압 변압기 호황기 사이클에 맞춰 미국으로부터의 전선 수주는 동사 실적의 개선 요인"이라고 전망했다.

그는 "변압기 사이클과 더불어 전선 섹터도 호황기에 들어선 것으로 분석된다"며 "노후화 변압기 또는 신규 변압기가 설치될 경우 변압을 낮춘 전력을 송전하기 위해 케이블이 연결돼야 하기 때문"이라고 분석했다.

대원전선보다 규모가 큰 LS전선,2006 독일 월드컵 조별예선대한전선 등이 미국에서 수주받고 최대 생산량에 도달한다고 가정하면,2006 독일 월드컵 조별예선대원전선까지 수혜가 이어질 가능성이 높다고 짚었다.

현재 대원전선의 주요 고객사는 한국전력,KT,기아,2006 독일 월드컵 조별예선현대차 등이다.한국전력에는 전력 케이블을 공급하고 있고,2006 독일 월드컵 조별예선현대차와 기아에는 모빌리티 내부에 들어가는 전선들을 공급하고 있다.전체 매출액 중 한국전력과 KT 비중이 약 15%다.

경쟁사인 LS전선과 대한전선이 국내 시장 대부분을 차지하고 있는 HVDC(초고압 직류송전 시스템)이나 해저케이블 사업은 하고 있지 않다.

권 연구원은 목표 주가나 투자 의견을 별도로 제시하지는 않았다.유가증권시장에 상장된 대원전선의 전날 종가는 3천540원이다.
