(대전=연합뉴스) 이은파 기자 = 한국철도공사(코레일)가 인구감소 지역 살리기 사업의 하나로 주말인 17일 '간이역 탐방열차'를 운행한다.

16일 코레일에 따르면 이 사업은 간이역의 정취를 간직하고 있는 기차역을 방문하는 여행상품을 만들어 지역관광·경제 활성화를 꾀하기 위한 것으로,에픽 하드테일 월드컵지난 6월 충북지역 간이역 4곳을 자전거로 투어 하는 '에코 레일' 탐방열차에 이은 두 번째 탐방열차다.

이 프로그램은 17일 하루 400여명의 탑승객이 충북 제천역과 경북 예천군 용궁역,에픽 하드테일 월드컵경북 문경시 점촌역,대전역에서 차례로 내려 지역 관광명소와 전통시장을 방문하는 일정으로 진행된다.

제천역에서는 1940년대 역 개통과 함께 발달한 한마음전통시장에서 마늘·약초 등의 지역 특산품을 구매하고,메밀전과 도토리묵밥 등 별미로 점심 식사를 즐긴다.

용궁역에서는 별주부전을 테마로 꾸민 역사에서 조각작품과 소형 인형극 무대를 감상하며,에픽 하드테일 월드컵점촌역에서는 구멍가게를 일컫는 옛말인 점빵 길을 돌며 문경의 전통문화를 체험할 수 있다.

대전역에서는 100여년 역사를 간직한 중부권 최대 전통시장인 중앙시장에서 건어물,에픽 하드테일 월드컵칼국수,에픽 하드테일 월드컵두부 두루치기 등 다채로운 먹거리와 곳곳에 마련된 철도 테마 볼거리도 즐길 수 있다.

7칸의 객차로 꾸려진 팔도장터열차를 활용한 탐방열차는 지난달 2일부터 예매를 시작해 일주일 만에 420석 전석이 마감됐다.
