오늘 새벽 청주의 한 고등학교에서 70대 경비원이 학교 교문을 열다 문에 깔리는 사고가 났습니다.

파란색 철문이 옆으로 뉘어진 채 놓여 있고 주변으론 폴리스라인이 둘러져 있습니다.

기둥과 문을 잇는 연결부와 철문 바퀴는 녹이 잔뜩 슬어있습니다.

청주의 한 고등학교 경비원인 70대 A 씨가 이 철문에 깔린 건 새벽 시간대였습니다.

[인근 주민 : "운동 중에 한 바퀴 돌다가 오다 보니까 들어오는 거 보고 119 차에 실려 가는 거 봤지.한 6시 반쯤 돼서 (구급차) 가는 것만 봤지."]

사고 직후 A 씨는 행인의 도움으로 철문 아래에서 빠져나왔지만 결국 병원에서 숨졌습니다.

사고가 난 학교 정문 앞입니다.

이 경비원은 등교 시간을 앞두고 문을 열다가 사고를 당한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

경찰은 학교 측의 시설물 관리에 문제가 있었는지 조사를 진행하고 있습니다.

1999년 개교 이후 한 번도 보수를 받지 않은 것으로 알려졌기 때문입니다.

또 사고 10여 분 전 교문을 붙잡고 흔들던 여성의 모습을 CCTV 영상에서 확인한 경찰은 충격으로 경첩 부분이 파손됐을 가능성도 살펴보고 있습니다.

이번 사고에 대해 충청북도교육청 측은 해당 철문의 경우 보고되는 정기 점검 항목에는 제외돼 있었다고 해명했습니다.

또 일선 학교에 공문을 보내 전수조사를 실시할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.

대전지방고용노동청은 학교 측 과실 여부 등을 조사중인 가운데 A 씨가 소속된 경비 용역업체 대표를 상대로 중대재해처벌법 위반 여부도 살펴보고 있습니다.
