이번 행사는 게임이용자의 적극적인 정책 참여 활성화 방안을 모색하고 게임이용자의 다양한 의견을 청취하는 사회적 공론의 장을 만들기 위해 마련됐다.주제 발표는 법 제도 측면에서의 게임이용자 정책 참여 방안과 게임이용자의 정책 참여 활성화 방안 순서로 발제가 진행된다.

이어서 게임이용자 협·단체와 관련 전문가가 발제 내용에 대한 토론을 진행하고 참여자 질문에 대한 답변 시간도 가질 예정이다.

김규철 게임물관리위원장 “게임이용자는 게임산업의 중요한 구성원으로 게임 정책을 만드는 데 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 열린 창구가 필요하다”며 “토론회에서 다양한 관점의 의견수렴과 깊이 있는 논의를 통해 합리적인 대안이 도출될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
