바르셀로나 세비야 - 2024년 실시간 업데이트

유럽연합(EU) 경쟁당국이 현지 시간 25일 마이크로소프트(MS)의 '화상회의앱 끼워팔기' 관행이 독점금지법 위반에 해당한다고 잠정 결론을 내렸습니다.

EU 집행위원회는 이날 MS측에 이같은 예비조사 결과를 담은 심사보고서를 발송했다고 밝혔습니다.

집행위는 시장지배적 위치에 있는 MS가 적어도 2019년 4월부터 화상회의 앱 팀즈(Teams)를 자사의 서비스형 소프트웨어(SaaS) 앱과 묶어 판매해 경쟁을 제한했다고 판단했습니다.

특히 지난해 7월 이후 MS가 일부 제품군에서는 팀즈를 포함하지 않고 공급하는 등 배포 방식을 변경하긴 했지만 집행위의 우려를 해소하기엔 불충분하다고 지적했습니다.

이와 함께 "경쟁 제한을 회복하기 위해서는 MS의 추가적인 변경 조처가 필요하다"고 주문했습니다.

MS는 이와 관련해 "EU 집행위의 추가적인 우려 사항을 해결하기 위한 방법을 찾기 위해 노력할 것"이라고 밝혔습니다.

MS가 EU 독점금지법을 위반한 혐의가 인정될 경우 전 세계 연간 매출의 최대 10%에 해당하는 벌금을 내야 할 수도 있습니다.
