최태원(64) SK그룹 회장과 노소영(63) 아트센터 나비 관장의 이혼 소송 항소심을 담당하다가 숨진 고(故) 강상욱(사법연수원 33기) 서울고법 판사가 순직을 인정받았다.

2일 법조계에 따르면 인사혁신처는 지난달 24일 강 판사 유족이 신청한 순직유족급여 청구를 승인했다.

강 판사는 지난 1월 11일 저녁 대법원 구내 운동장에서 운동하다가 갑자기 쓰러져 병원으로 이송됐지만 끝내 숨졌다.

그는 평소에도 운동 후 사무실로 돌아와 야근하는 일이 잦았던 것으로 알려졌다.유족은 강 판사가 업무 수행 중 사망했다며 순직 인정을 신청했다.신청 과정에서 강 판사가 일에 몰두해 온 수만 쪽의 자료를 제출한 것으로 전해졌다.

서울고법 가사2부(재판장 김시철)의 배석판사였던 강 판사는 김시철 부장판사와 함께 최 회장과 노 관장의 이혼소송 항소심 심리를 맡았다.
