네이버웹툰이 27일(현지시간) 미국 나스닥 시장에 상장됐다.

네이버웹툰 본사이자 북미 법인인 웹툰엔터테인먼트는 종목코드 'WBTN'으로 이날부터 나스닥에서 거래를 시작했다.이날 공모가보다 1.4% 오른 주당 21.30달러로 출발했다.

이날 상장식에는 김준구 네이버웹툰 대표이사와 네이버 창업자인 이해진 글로벌투자책임자(GIO)가 참석했다.

상장에 앞서 웹툰엔터테인먼트 공모가격은 주당 21달러로 결정됐다.웹툰엔터테인먼트가 미 증권거래위원회(SEC)에 제출한 증권신고서에 따르면 공모가 희망범위는 주당 18~21달러였는데 최상단에서 결정돼 초반 흥행에 성공했다는 평가가 나왔다.

웹툰엔터테인먼트는 이번 기업공개(IPO)를 통해 보통주 1500만주를 발행,산호세 어스퀘이크스최대 3억1500만달러(약 4367억원)를 조달할 것으로 전망된다.이번 공모주식 수는 전체 주식 중 11.8%다.상장 후 기업가치는 26억7000만달러(약 3조7000억원)로 추산된다.

상장 완료 후에도 네이버의 웹툰엔터테인먼트는 지분율 63.4%의 최상위 지배기업으로 이사 선임 권한을 보유하게 된다.라인야후(LY주식회사)도 24.7%의 지분을 가진 2대주주로 계속 남는다.

2005년 12월에 네이버 포털 서비스의 하나로 시작한 네이버웹툰은 현재 북미 지역의 웹툰,산호세 어스퀘이크스동남아시아의 라인웹툰,산호세 어스퀘이크스일본의 라인망가 등을 통해 150여 개국에서 서비스 중이다.약 1억7000만명의 월간활성이용자(MAU)와 5510만개의 콘텐츠를 보유 중이다.
