전기차 화재가 잇따르면서 전기차에 장착된 배터리 제조사 공개 요구가 계속됐는데요.벤츠가 뒤늦게 배터리 제조사를 공개했습니다.국내에 판매되는 대다수 모델에 중국산 배터리를 쓰고 있었습니다.

벤츠코리아가 전기차 8종에 탑재된 배터리 제조사를 공개했습니다.

인천 서구 아파트 지하주차장에 주차된 벤츠 전기차에서 불이 난 지 12일 만입니다.

공개된 전기차 8종 중 6종 14개 모델에 중국산 배터리가 사용됐고 청라 아파트 화재 차종인 EQE350+ 모델은 연식과 관계없이 모두 파라시스 배터리를 쓴 것으로 확인됐습니다.

19개 차종 중 1개에만 중국 업체 배터리를 쓰는 현대차 뿐 아니라 경쟁사인 BMW에 비해서도 중국산 배터리 비중이 유독 높습니다.

차값이 2억원 가까운 최고급 모델에도 중국산 배터리가 들어갔다는 사실이 공개되자 관련 커뮤니티에는 "허탈하다"는 반응이 이어졌습니다.

벤츠가 전기차 무상점검을 실시한다는 발표에는 "교환이나 환불을 해줘야 하는 것 아니냐"고 반발했습니다.

화재 초기 고객사 기밀 유지를 이유로 제조사 정보를 공개하지 않다가 다른 회사들이 배터리 정보를 공개하고 나서야 뒤늦게 공개에 나섰다는 비판도 나옵니다.

벤츠코리아 관계자 (지난 5일)
"그 배터리 제조사가 납품업체가 맞는지 여부와 그리고 제품명도 저희가 확인해 드리기는 어려워서요…."

정부는 모든 회사가 전기차 배터리 정보를 공개하도록 권고하기로 했습니다.
