'SMR선박연구소'는 SMR(Small Modular Reactor 소형 모듈원자료)선박의 설계,제작,운영 및 유지보수에 관련된 핵심 연구를 통해 기술적 문제를 해결하고,조선산업 전반의 경쟁력 강화와 미래 선박기술 확보를 목표로 설립됐다.

연구소는 향후 △SMR선박 연구·교육 인프라 구축 △SMR선박 글로벌 공동연구 △SMR선박 글로벌 Only-1 교육과정 운영 △글로벌 기업,기관,대학과의 협력 네트워크 Hub 기능 등을 수행하며,맨시티풀럼 프리미어친환경 조선해양 산업의 혁신을 선도해 나갈 계획이다.
