삼성전자가 '고대역폭 메모리(HBM) 개발팀'을 신설하는 등 대대적 조직 개편에 나섰습니다.

4일 업계에 따르면 삼성전자 디바이스솔루션(DS)부문은 이날 자로 HBM 개발팀 신설을 골자로 하는 조직 개편을 실시했습니다.

AI 시장 확대로 HBM 수요가 급증하는 가운데 HBM 기술 리더십을 강화하고 경쟁력을 키우기 위한 것으로 풀이됩니다.

신임 HBM 개발팀장은 고성능 D램 제품 설계 전문가인 손영수 부사장이 맡는 것으로 알려졌습니다.

이번에 신설되는 HBM 개발팀은 HBM3와 HBM3E뿐 아니라 차세대 HBM4 기술 개발에 집중할 것으로 보입니다.

삼성전자는 2015년부터 메모리사업부 내에서 HBM 개발 조직을 운영해 온 데 이어 이번 조직 개편으로 HBM 전담 조직을 한층 강화해 차세대 연구개발에 힘을 싣는다는 방침인 것으로 알려졌습니다.

삼성전자는 현재 HBM3E 8단과 12단 제품에 대해 엔비디아의 품질 테스트를 진행 중입니다.

이와 함께 어드밴스드 패키징(AVP) 개발팀과 설비기술연구소도 재편합니다.

기존의 AVP 사업팀을 재편한 AVP 개발팀은 전영현 부문장 직속으로 배치됐습니다.

2.5D,강인 도박3D 등 신규 패키지 기술을 선제적으로 확보하기 위한 취지입니다.

설비기술연구소의 경우 반도체 공정과 설비 기술 지원 역량을 강화하기 위해 조직을 개편,강인 도박반도체 공정의 효율성을 높이는 데 집중할 것으로 알려졌습니다.

반도체 양산 설비에 대한 기술 지원도 강화합니다.

이를 통해 HBM과 차세대 패키지 기술 리더십을 강화하고 전반적인 기술 경쟁력도 확보한다는 방침입니다.
