자가면역질환 치료제 '스텔라라' 바이오시밀러

[서울=뉴시스]황재희 기자 = 바이오의약품 개발 기업 삼성바이오에피스가 자가면역질환 치료제를 미국에서 허가받았다.

삼성바이오에피스는 미국 식품의약국(FDA)으로부터 자가면역질환 치료제 스텔라라(성분명 우스테키누맙) 바이오시밀러 '피즈치바‘(SB17)의 품목허가를 획득했다고 2일 밝혔다.

피즈치바 오리지널 의약품인 스텔라라는 얀센이 개발한 판상 건선,월드컵 승리 확률건선성 관절염,크론병,궤양성 대장염 등의 자가면역질환 치료제다.면역반응에 관련된 신경 전달물질 인터루킨(IL)-12,월드컵 승리 확률23의 활성을 억제하는 원리로 작용하며,월드컵 승리 확률연간 글로벌 매출 규모는 약 14조원(108억 5800만달러)에 달한다.

삼성바이오에피스 정병인 상무는 “자가면역질환 치료제 중 첫 인터루킨 억제제인 피즈치바의 미국 허가를 받아 기쁘다”며 “앞으로도 다양한 분야의 의약품 개발을 통해 환자들에게 더 많은 치료 옵션을 제공할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 삼성바이오에피스는 지난해 글로벌 바이오 제약사 산도스(Sandoz)와 피즈치바의 북미 및 유럽 판매를 위한 파트너십 계약을 체결했으며,월드컵 승리 확률스텔라라 오리지널사인 존슨 앤드 존슨과의 합의에 따라 피즈치바를 오는 2025년 2월 22일부터 미국에서 출시할 수 있다.
