울산대학교 의과대학 교수협의회 비상대책위원회는 12일 총회 후 입장문을 내고 이같이 밝혔다.

비대위는 "서울아산병원 교수들은 정부가 전공의들에 대한 진료 유지 및 업무 개시 명령을 완전히 취소하고,2023 아시안게임 축구 결과현재의 문제를 해결할 수 있는 구체적이고 실질적인 조치를 취할 것을 요구하며 18일 의협이 주도하는 집단행동에 함께하기로 결정했다"고 설명했다.

비대위에 따르면 서울아산병원 교수진을 대상으로 한 설문조사에서 소속 교수 64.7%가 응답했고,2023 아시안게임 축구 결과응답자 93.7%가 18일 휴진에 찬성했다.

비대위는 "전공의들의 안전을 확보하기 위해 이번 결정을 내리게 됐다"며 "정부는 책임 있는 자세로 나서서 문제를 해결하고 전공의들의 정당한 권리를 보장하고 신뢰를 회복할 수 있도록 조치를 취할 것을 강력히 촉구한다"고 휴진 배경을 밝혔다.

이어 "이번 휴진 결정으로 인해 환자 여러분께 불편을 끼쳐드린 점에 대해 진심으로 사과드리며,2023 아시안게임 축구 결과정상적인 의료 환경의 회복을 위하여 최선을 다할 것을 다짐한다"고 덧붙였다.
