첨단산업 특성화대학 지원사업 선정

[서울=뉴시스]박지은 인턴 기자 = 서강대가 첨단산업 특성화대학 지원사업에 선정됐다.

지난 4일 교육부와 한국산업기술진흥원은 첨단산업 특성화대학 지원사업 선정 결과를 발표했다.

2023년부터 추진한 첨단산업 특성화대학 지원사업은 '반도체 관련 인재 양성 방안'에 따라 대학이 산업계 수요에 기반한 학사 인재를 양성할 수 있도록 지원하는 사업이다.

올해는 반도체 분야 9곳과 이차전지 분야 3곳 등 총 12개 대학(연합)이 선정됐다.

서강대학교는 반도체 특성화대학 분야에서 개별 대학이 인재양성 계획을 수립하는 '단독형'에 가천대,클레오 바카라연세대와 함께 선정돼 총 4년(2024~2027)간 집중적인 재정 지원을 받게 된다.

서강대학교 전자공학과 내에 차세대반도체전공트랙과 30명 규모의 반도체공학과가 주전공으로 신설되고 반도체연계전공 및 반도체마이크로전공을 활용해 융합전공 인력을 양성한다.

이를 통해 반도체 산업의 초격차를 실현할 차세대반도체 ELITE (Excellent leaders & Industrial Technology Experts) 인재양성을 목표로 한다.이를 위해 (1) 우수한 실력을 갖춘 반도체 전문인재 양성을 위한 교육 체계 (2) 최신의 공정/소자 및 설계/시스템의 융합 교육 인프라 (3) 현장 맞춤형 반도체 전문 인재 양성을 위한 산학 연계를 구축할 예정이다.

본 사업의 총괄책임자인 서강대학교 전자공학과 범진욱 교수는 "반도체 산업은 미래의 핵심 동력으로 경제성장과 기술 혁신에 중요한 역할을 할 것이다"라면서 "서강대학교는 이번 지원사업 선정을 통해 반도체 분야에서의 교육 및 연구 역량을 강화하고 대한민국 반도체 산업의 경쟁력을 높이는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다"고 밝혔다.
