17일(현지시간) 블룸버그가 익명의 소식통을 인용한데 따르면 테슬라는 중국 상하이 일부 지역에서 FSD 테스트 승인을 받았으며 저장성 항저우시에도 승인이 날 수 있을 것으로 알려졌다.이 관계자는 초기 테스트는 테슬라 직원이 실시할 것이라고 말했다.

이와 관련,미국 로또 평균 당첨금6주전에 일론 머스크가 북경을 방문해 FSD 시스템 배포에 대한 승인을 받았었다.

고급 운전자 지원 시스템은 중국에서 점점 보편화되고 있으며 샤오펑 및 샤오미 등 많은 중국 현지 업체들이 차량의 장점으로 판매에 활용하고 있다.
