미성년자가 등장하는 음란물을 시청한 공무원이 검찰에 불구속 송치됐다.

경북경찰청 사이버수사대는 포항시 공무원 A씨를 청소년 성보호법 위반 혐의로 검찰에 불구속 송치했다고 9일 밝혔다.

경찰에 따르면 A씨는 지난 2월 중순쯤 자택에서 컴퓨터로 인터넷에 접속한 뒤 아동·청소년이 등장하는 음란물을 내려받아 시청한 혐의를 받는다.

포항시는 경찰의 수시 개시 통보를 받자 지난 4월 22일자로 A씨를 직위해제 했다.A씨는 포항시청 일자리경제국에서 청년 관련 업무를 담당해 온 것으로 전해진다.

경찰 관계자는 "경찰청으로부터 A씨에 대한 수사 지시가 내려와 수사한 뒤 지난 5월 말 A씨를 불구속 송치했다"며 "A씨가 음란물을 몇 편이나 내려받았는지 등 정확한 내용은 확인해 줄 수 없다"고 말했다.

청소년 성보호법상 아동·청소년이 등장하는 음란물을 소지하고 있거나 시청하면 처벌 대상이 된다.
