방송통신위원회는 4일 갤럭시 폴더블6 판매를 빌미로 사기 판매 행위가 발생할 수 있다면서 이용자들에게 각별한 주의를 당부하고 나섰다.

방통위에 따르면 온라인상에서 '성지점'으로 불리는 카페·블로그·밴드 등의 판매 채널을 활용해 사기 판매가 이뤄질 수 있는 상황.최신 스마트폰을 저렴하게 구매할 수 있다는 말로 꾀어내지만 실제로는 지원금 지급을 위한 별도 계약 체결을 요구할 수 있다는 것이다.

통신사에서 제공하는 선택약정 할인과 신용카드 제휴 할인 등을 유통점이 할인하는 것처럼 설명해 현혹하는 유형도 있다.또 스마트워치·태블릿 등을 무료로 증정하겠다면서 고가 요금제나 부가서비스 가입을 유도하는 경우를 주의해야 한다.

방통위는 터무니없이 저렴한 구매 금액을 제시한다면 할인 조건과 할부원금을 꼼꼼하게 확인할 필요가 있다고 당부했다.

그러면서 "단통법 개정으로 이달 24일부터 온라인 사전승낙서 미게시 등에 대해서도 과태료 부과가 가능해진다"며 "이통사,당근 토토 먹튀방송통신이용자보호협회와 함께 온라인 성지점을 중심으로 사전승낙서 게시 여부 점검,당근 토토 먹튀허위·과장·기만 광고에 대한 시장 모니터링과 법 위반 여부 등의 현장 점검을 강화할 계획"이라고 했다.
