정부가 야생멧돼지 아프리카돼지열병(ASF) 추가 확산 방지를 위해 경북 주요 지자체를 대상으로 총력 대응을 실시한다.

환경부는 경북 상주·영천·군위·김천·구미·칠곡·청도·경산·경주 등 9개 시군에서 야생 멧돼지 수색과 포획을 확대한다고 8일 밝혔다.

추가 확산을 저지하기 위해 하한선에 있는 상주·영천·군위를 비롯해 서남부쪽에서 인접한 지자체 등 총 9개 시군을 대상으로 야생멧돼지 포획·수색을 강화할 계획이다.

구체적으로 야간에 야생멧돼지 체온을 감지해 실시간으로 위치를 파악해 포획할 수 있도록 열화상 무인기(드론)를 활용한 10개 감시팀을 해당 지역에 집중 투입한다.

원거리에서도 야생멧돼지의 포획여부를 알려주는 위치추적장비(GPS)를 탑재한 포획트랩 900여 개도 배치한다.아울러 사람의 접근이 어려운 산악 지대,스포츠 베팅 픽스터깊은 숲 속 등에서도 야생멧돼지 폐사체를 찾을 수 있는 탐지견 8마리를 상시적으로 운영한다.

이외에도 환경부는 대구지방환경청과 ASF 발생에 대비하는 지자체 준비 태세를 점검하고 현장대응 역량을 높이기 위한 현장교육을 실시할 예정이다.지자체에서 미흡사항을 스스로 점검․보완할 수 있도록 ASF 방역 교육 동영상도 제작하여 8월 중 배포할 계획이다.

경북은 현재 ASF 확산세가 거센 지역으로 7일에도 예천군 한 양돈농가에서 ASF가 발생했다.올해 6번째 양돈농가 확진 사례다.국내에선 2019년 10월 경기 연천군에서 야생 멧돼지 ASF 감염 사례가 처음 나온 뒤 현재까지 43개 시군에서 4천108건의 감염 사례가 나왔다.

환경부는 "멧돼지는 9월께부터 행동반경이 넓어져 농경지에 출몰하는 경우가 늘어난다"라면서 "농작물 수확기 전인 지금이 산악을 중심으로 한 야생 멧돼지 포획에 중요한 시기"라고 설명했다.
