이번 협약은 AICT(AI+ICT) 응용 기술의 사업화를 위한 것으로 △인공지능(AI) 기술 완성도 제고와 사업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 연구개발 과제 추진 △KT·고려대 공동 연구개발센터 설립 △산학 연구개발용 그래픽처리장치(GPU) 공동 활용 등을 포함한다.

양측은 AI 기술과 관련 시장의 빠른 변화에 대응하고 학계와 긴밀하게 협업하기 위해 오승필 KT 기술혁신부문장(부사장)과 유혁 고려대 연구부총장을 공동 연구개발센터 연구소장으로 선임하기로 했다.3명씩 6명의 자문위원회를 구성해 AI 응용 기술 공동 연구개발 프로젝트 수행에 필요한 의사결정을 지원한다.이를 통해 최신 연구 동향을 반영한 산학 연계형 기술을 개발해 AI 분야에서 기술력과 사업 경쟁력을 확보할 방침이다.
