삼성전자 '스마트싱스 에너지' 앱 활용

삼성 스마트싱스 앱의 에너지 AI 기능을 통해 손쉽게 에너지 절약 및 탄소 배출 저감이 이뤄질 수 있도록 민관이 손을 잡는다.

대통령직속 '2050 탄소중립녹색성장위원회'(이하 탄녹위)는 산업통상자원부,삼성전자와 정부서울청사에서 업무협약을 체결했다고 11일 밝혔다.

삼성전자의 통합 기기 관리 플랫폼인 스마트싱스 앱의 인공지능(AI) 기능을 활용해 에너지 절약 및 탄소감축에 대한 국민인식을 높이고 실천을 활성화하기 위해서다.

탄녹위는 이날(11일)부터 8월까지 삼성전자와 함께 에너지 절감을 통한 탄소감축 인식 증진 캠페인을 공동 운영한다.

캠페인 참여자는 삼성전자 스마트싱스 에너지(SmartThings Energy) 서비스의 'AI 절약 모드' 기능을 통해 가전제품 전력 사용량을 절감하여 전기요금과 탄소 배출을 줄일 수 있다.

'탄소 배출량 인사이트' 기능을 통해서는 일별·기기별 탄소 배출량 및 저감량 확인이 가능하다.

김상협 탄녹위 민간공동위원장은 "AI가 탄소중립에 크게 기여할 수 있을 것으로 보고 있다"면서 "이번 협약을 통해 민관이 힘을 합쳐 보다 쉽게 탄소를 감축할 수 있는 방안을 마련하게 되어 매우 고무적"이라고 말했다.

박찬우 삼성전자 부사장은 "스마트싱스 에너지는 삼성전자의 차별화 된 AI 기술로 제품의 성능을 유지하면서 에너지와 탄소 배출을 감축한다"면서 "탄소 저감에 도움이 되는 솔루션을 강화해나가겠다"고 다짐했다.
