외무부 국장 "도발·비난 악순환 끊고 협상 시작해야"

(로마=연합뉴스) 신창용 특파원 = 러시아 외무부는 한반도가 위험한 교착 상태에 빠졌다고 진단하며 남북한 양측에 상호 도발과 비난을 자제하고 협상에 나서야 한다고 촉구했다.

러시아 외무부 국제기구국 국장 표트르 일리이체프는 10일(현지시간) 자국 스푸트니크 통신과 인터뷰에서 "한반도 주변 상황이 지속적인 긴장 고조로 위험한 교착 상태에 이르렀다"며 "현 상황에 대한 주된 책임은 미국과 역내 동맹국들이 고집스럽게 대결의 길을 따르고 북한을 자극하는 데 있다"고 주장했다.

그는 러시아는 한반도에서 분쟁을 확대하는 데 관심이 없다면서 남북한 양측에 협상을 통해 평화적으로 문제를 해결하라고 주문했다.

그러면서 "우리는 극동 국경에서 긴장의 온상이 점점 더 타오르는 것을 보고 싶지 않다"며 "따라서 우리는 양측이 상호 도발과 비난의 악순환을 끊고 무력이나 위협으로 문제를 해결하려는 욕구를 버리고 협상을 시작할 것을 제안한다"고 말했다.

이에 대해 러시아 외무부는 한미일 방위 협력이 북한과 러시아뿐만 아니라 중국을 견제하는 데 목적이 있다고 주장했다.

이어 인도·태평양 지역의 유일한 실재적 위협은 미국의 정책이며 북한의 미사일 정책을 포함한 다른 문제는 집단적 대응을 통해 해결해야 한다고 덧붙였다.
