[대구=뉴시스] 김정화 기자 = 의사,유나이티드 오브 맨체스터보험설계사,환자들이 조직적으로 공모해 보험금 11억 상당을 가로챈 일당이 재판에 넘겨졌다.

대구지검 환경·보건범죄전담부(부장검사 남계식)는 9일 50대 여성 의사와 40대 여성 간호사를 보험사기방지 특별법 위반 등 혐의로,유나이티드 오브 맨체스터보험설계사 2명은 업무방해 등 혐의로 각각 구속 기소했다.

실제 진료를 받지 않고 보험금을 청구한 가짜 환자 94명은 보험사기방지 특별법 위반 혐의로 불구속 기소했다.

이들은 2018년부터 2021년 허위 진료 명목으로 11억원 상당의 보험금 및 8200만 원 상당의 국민건강보험공단 요양급여를 편취한 혐의를 받고 있다.

사건은 2022년 피해 보험회사들이 일부 환자들의 보험사기 범행을 의심해 진정서를 제출하면서 수사가 시작됐다.

환자들의 진료내역과 의약품 사용기록 대조,유나이티드 오브 맨체스터계좌거래 내역 분석 등을 통해 의사,유나이티드 오브 맨체스터보험설계사,유나이티드 오브 맨체스터환자들이 공모해 조직적으로 보험사기 범행을 저지른 사실이 드러났다.

피의자들은 화상치료 수술 명목으로 보험금을 청구하는 경우 보험회사로부터 손쉽게 보험금이 지급되는 허점을 악용해 보험설계사는 가짜 환자를 모집했다.의사와 간호사는 전혀 화상을 입지 않았거나 수술이 필요 없는 경미한 화상 환자에 대해 마치 수술을 할 것처럼 허위진단서와 진료기록부를 작성하는 수법으로 보험금을 편취했다는 조사 결과가 나왔다.

대구지방검찰청 관계자는 "범죄에 상응하는 처벌을 받을 수 있도록 공소 유지에 만전을 기하겠다"며 "향후에도 선량한 국민의 보험료 부담을 가중시키고 국민건강보험공단의 재정건전성을 훼손하는 보험사기 범죄에 대해 엄정하게 대응하겠다"고 말했다．
